Buena Vista Dance School
The Buena Vista Dance School was founded in August 2008 and quickly became the leading school in Montenegro for salsa, Argentine tango, and Afro-Cuban dances.
Our instructors are the most experienced dancers in these fields, having acquired and refined their skills at major festivals and seminars in the region. They have had the opportunity to learn and work with some of the world’s greatest dancers and instructors, both in salsa (Yanek Revilla, Diana Rodriguez, Jorge Camaguey, Juan Ortiz, Yunaisy Farray, Alexander Carbo, Teresa Castaneda, Alberto Valdes…) and Argentine tango (Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Pablo Villaraza and Dana Frigoli, Pablo Rodriguez and Noelia Hurtado, Federico Naveira and Ines Muzzoppapa, Aoniken Quiroga and Alejandra Mantinan…).
We are proud to say that our instructors have recently become increasingly involved in regional festivals as part of the instructor line-up (Cubanero – Novi Sad, Salsa Motion Weekend – Belgrade, Sarajevo Salsa Congress, Never Dance Alone – Kraljevo…).
However, what we are most proud of is the fact that our members are beloved dance partners throughout the region, not only for their wonderful character but also for their impressive dance skills (for which we’ll humbly take some credit).
Familija Tangovi Skopje
Familija Tangovi Skopje, established in 2012, is a cultural and artistic association dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Argentine tango in Macedonia. As the oldest active tango school in the country, it has played a pivotal role in introducing a new wave of tango appreciation by nurturing the dance as both an organic, evolving art form and a cultural treasure that honors its historical roots.
At Familija Tangovi, regular classes are offered for all levels, along with practicas and local milongas—the social gatherings where tango comes to life. The school also organizes workshops with internationally renowned instructors, elevating the local tango scene and connecting it to the global community. The organization is perhaps best known internationally for its annual tango marathon, Maratangon, which celebrates its 10th edition in 2024, and the Todo Es Amor Skopje Tango Festival, now preparing for its 3rd edition in April 2025.
Familija Tangovi views tango as more than a dance: it is a means of self-expression, connection, and cultural exchange. The teaching approach emphasizes understanding the physics of movement between partners, inspired by the principles of Tango Nuevo (New Tango). This approach prioritizes not only the mechanics of steps but also the artistry of how the dance is performed, encouraging students to discover their unique style and expression within the dance.
