How Was Tango Unity Born?
It all started from a simple idea: to give young people the opportunity to express themselves and connect through dance. This project, led by Familija Tangovi Skopje in partnership with the Buena Vista Dance School from Podgorica, harnesses the power of Argentine tango for international collaboration. At the same time, it allows young people—especially girls—to explore their creativity, build confidence, and gain a sense of belonging, including those from marginalized groups.
Young mentors, inspired and dedicated, guided the new beginners through the entire workshop process with heart and belief, creating an environment where everyone is welcomed. In addition to workshops, the project reached wider audiences through presentations at universities, schools, youth organizations, and other educational institutions.
We invited young people to experience tango as a platform for personal growth, connection, and shifting societal perceptions.
Tango Unity is not just a dance.
It is a space for listening, understanding, and togetherness through every step and touch. A space where differences are a strength, and dance is a bridge to a better future.
